Deleting your Mentalizi account

This page explains how to delete your Mentalizi account and the data tied to it, whether or not the app is still on your phone.

1. The app and who publishes it

The Mentalizi app, available on the App Store and Google Play, is published by SCALERIA (SAS), 6 rue d’Armaillé, 75017 Paris. This page covers every Mentalizi account, whether you signed up with an email address, with Apple or with Google.

2. From the app

• Open the Profile tab.
• Scroll down to the My data card.
• Tap Delete my account and all my data.
• Confirm with Delete everything.

Deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone. To protect your account, it needs a recent sign-in: if you signed in more than fifteen minutes ago, sign out, sign back in, and try again. Before you confirm, the app reminds you that any subscription you have is cancelled separately (see section 6).

Want a copy first? Profile → My data → Export all my data gives you a complete file. Once the account is gone, there is nothing left to export.

3. Without the app

If you no longer have the app, or can't get to your phone, email contact@mentalizi.com from the address on your account, with "Account deletion" as the subject. Writing from that address is how we know the request really comes from you. If it doesn't match any account, we will reply to confirm who you are before erasing anything.

We answer within one month, as our privacy policy states. What gets erased is exactly what deleting from the app erases.

4. What is deleted, and when

Everything your account holds is erased straight away:

• your account and your profile;
• your voice sessions, their transcripts and summaries, your mental profile and your coach's memory;
• your written conversations with the coach;
• your journal, your rituals, the exercises you practised and your feedback on routines;
• the card you published for your team, your requests for a talk, and your Locker Room posts;
• the feedback you sent us, and any credits you had left.

If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the access you gave Mentalizi.

Copies may remain for up to 30 days in our host's encrypted backups, where nothing can be done with them.

5. What may remain, and why

• Your purchases. Your subscription is paid to Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), never to us. They keep your purchase history under their own policies, as separate controllers. We have access neither to your payment method nor to your invoices.
• The subscription record held by RevenueCat, the provider that checks your purchases for us. It holds only your account's technical id, the product bought and its dates: never your name, your email, or the content of your sessions.
• Your request for immediate access, if you bought a subscription or a top-up: the text you ticked, its language, the version of the terms, the product and the time, with only your account's technical id, never your name or your email. It is kept for 5 years after the purchase, so that your request can be proven if a withdrawal is disputed.
• Our server technical logs, kept for 30 days.
• The daily feedback review report and its counts, which name nobody.

6. Your subscription is cancelled separately

Deleting your account does not stop an active subscription: Apple or Google collects it, and it keeps renewing until you cancel it. Cancel it first: in the app, the Cancel my subscription button on your Profile (also on the Subscription screen) takes you straight to your subscriptions page. Without the app, use your phone's settings: Settings · your name · Subscriptions on iPhone, Google Play · Payments and subscriptions on Android. On iPhone, we cannot cancel it for you: only Apple can.

7. Withdrawing your consent without deleting your account

You can also keep your account and only withdraw your consent to AI coaching: Profile → My data → Withdraw my consent to AI coaching, then Erase my data and withdraw my consent.

Withdrawing erases, straight away, your coach's memory and its earlier versions, your in-depth questionnaire and your goals, your voice and written sessions with their transcripts and write-ups, your written conversations (including any replies you rated with a thumb), the difficult moments you told your coach about, your personalised routines and your feedback on routines, your rituals, the exercises you practised, your coaching cycles and your competitions, and the remarks on how your coach speaks picked up in your sessions. What stays: your account and your profile (first name, age, discipline, level), the card you published for your trainer and your requests for a talk, your Locker Room posts, the feedback you sent us from the feedback screen, your credits and your subscription.

Your journal stays only if you choose to keep it when you withdraw, by ticking Keep my journal: it is then kept for you alone, and you can read it and delete its entries whenever you like. Until you give your consent again, your coach doesn't read it and you can't add new entries. The coach can't be used again until you give your consent back; the rest of the app stays open, apart from what only feeds your coaching (your goals, your mental profile, the questions at the end of a routine, writing in your journal). Withdrawing your consent does not stop your subscription: to stop it, cancel it (see section 6).
