2. What Mentalizi is — and what it is not

Mentalizi is a mental preparation and well-being app for athletes and esports players. It offers conversations with a coach, a journal, session tracking and community spaces.

The coach you talk to is an artificial intelligence — not a human being, and not a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a doctor or a health professional of any kind.

Mentalizi is not a medical device. The app does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent or monitor any illness or condition. It is not a substitute for a consultation, a therapy, a treatment, or the opinion of a health professional.

Mentalizi is not an emergency service. The app does not monitor anyone continuously, and nobody reads your conversations as they happen. If you are in immediate danger, call 112 (the emergency number across Europe). If you are in distress, call 3114 (suicide prevention in France — free, 24 hours a day, every day).

3. Who can use Mentalizi

The app is for people aged 15 or over. Below that age, French law requires the joint consent of the holder of parental authority, which the app has no way of collecting today.

By creating an account, you declare that you are at least 15. An account created in breach of this rule may be deleted without notice, along with the data attached to it.

4. Your account and its security

You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for what happens under your account. Tell us at contact@mentalizi.com if it is used without your permission.

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Deletion is final, and it erases all of your data (profile, sessions, transcripts, journal, messages).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. What the artificial intelligence produces

Your coach's replies are generated automatically. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation. They are neither professional advice nor a personalised recommendation in any regulatory sense, and they must never be the basis of a decision about your health.

The app also produces a mood estimate at the end of a session, and a mental profile. Both are inferred from what you say, never from an analysis of your voice, your face or your body. They are indicative and have no clinical value.

You can stop a session, ignore a suggestion, and ask for your data to be deleted, at any time.

7. Team features

If you join a team, nothing is shared with its team coach by default. You choose explicitly what to share, and you can change your mind at any time:

The content of your sessions is never shared, with anyone. That is not a setting: it is technically impossible. Your first name, your discipline and your level, on the other hand, are visible to the team coach as soon as you join.

8. Availability and changes

The service is provided as is, in a testing phase. It may be interrupted, changed or limited — in particular by usage quotas meant to keep infrastructure costs in check. We do not guarantee continuous availability, nor freedom from error.

9. Liability

Within the limits allowed by law, we cannot be held liable for decisions taken on the basis of content generated by the app, nor for the consequences of using it contrary to these terms — in particular using Mentalizi in place of medical or psychological care.

Nothing here limits the rights that the law gives consumers.

10. Intellectual property

The app, its brand, its visual identity and its content are protected. You keep ownership of what you write and say; you grant us the right to process that content for the sole purpose of running the service, on the terms set out in the privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

Any substantial change will be shown to you in the app, and you will have to accept it to keep using the service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have jurisdiction. You may also refer the matter, free of charge, to a consumer mediator (médiateur de la consommation).
